This substantial shield signet ring oozes quality. Shields are always incredibly popular and its quite unusual to find one of this weight in a smaller size suitable for a lady or possibly a gents pinky finger. There is the faintest trace of now illegible initials on the cartouche which would easily be polished out to make way for new ones. The shield itself is 13mm by 12mm.

The makers mark is Henry Griffiths and Sons, the hallmark was assayed in Chester in 1921 and I can see this item giving another 100 years of service without any trouble. The weight is 5.16g.
