Time Period: 1920s
Material: 9ct Yellow Gold
This ornate shield was dual purpose, serving a medical safety function as well as looking beautiful. The rear is engraved rhesus negative and the name B Lindley. I hope B Linley never had cause to need it. The medallion itself is 33mm high by 20mm wide. On the reverse it also bears the makers mark of James Walter Tiptoft and a hallmark for 9ct gold, having been assayed in Birmingham in 1922.
The weight is 2.64g.
