This a a real beauty. My regulars know I always try to keep a small selection of padlocks in but this one is exceptional. Made by Charles Daniel Broughton this piece is patterned to the front in a half and half style I haven’t seen before. The rear also has a patterned border. Inside that is a clear hallmark dating the piece to 1905 in the Birmingham assay office and with CDB also evident. This is fully working, but being so exquisite I personally would display it as a pendant.
The weight is 2.11g.
