Time Period: 1960s
Material: 9ct Yellow Gold
Stone Shape: Oval
Ring Style: Cameo
You may have already noticed that this pretty 1960s cameo ring has bumps on the shanks. These are known as speed or bishops bumps and they are designed to help keep the ring in place on the finger. They are ideal is you need a smaller ring size than your knuckles will allow, as the bumps gain you the ability to pass your knuckles. The cameo itself is 10mm by 8mm with the overall setting being 14mm by 12mm. There is a makers mark of CL&S for Charles Lyster and Son, alongside a hallmark indicating 9ct gold and dating to 1966.
The weight is 2.77g.
Please note the bumps make measuring the ring very tricky! It measures as a UK K or a US 5 ½, but fits more like a UK M ½ or a US 6 ¾.
