Time Period: 1800s
Material: 9ct Yellow Gold
This useful clasp in a dog clip style is ideal to add to an older chain in particular. The clip is practical as it is still fully working, but increasingly I see these shown as a feature rather than just a functional item. It was probably part of an albert watch chain originally, and it is lovely that these items can find a modern purpose. There is a makers mark of W.H.A. to the top of the clip and although there is no specific date mark, this item is in keeping with other examples I have found from this maker which date to the turn of the century.
This example is 22mm long and 8mm wide. There is a hallmark of 9.375 which indicates 9ct gold. The weight is 2.38g.
Please note, this item is not new and is sold as shown and described. Vintage items will inevitably display some signs of wear. I will point out anything I think is significant, but I also provide multiple photos of each item from different angles, which enable you to judge the condition for yourself. Every photo is of the actual item for sale and the piece you will receive.
